During the period of 1998-2008, the US economy grew by a staggering 65.5%! On the other hand, US stock market's performance looks pale in comparison with its economy. DowJones, the indicator of US stock market performance as a whole, contracted by 7.5% for the last ten years! Is it amazing?? The stock market index, which is also supposely track the performance of the economy of the country, did not match the underlying economy. The economy grew substantially but not the stock market!!
